Even if you don't collect sensitive information from your visitors, consider using SSL. Here's why. The green lock will give your site more credibility with your visitors as well as Google. You will also be able to use the newer and faster HTTP/2 protocol (available on most hosts and has to be enabled on your server). Many hosting companies provide free SSL certificates today, if yours does not, you can get it for free from Let's Encrypt.
